You wake up, have a shower, put your school uniform on, have breakfast, brush your teeth, and leave the house. This process remains almost unchanged for an exchange student here in South Africa. But then, as you close your home’s gate, and start to walk down the streets, you look up and see Table Mountain, and realise that you’re not in an ordinary place. That’s how I feel everyday, and it feels pretty damn good. Back in Spain, I couldn’t go anywhere, not even school, without my music. I needed to hear about a U.S. road trip with Hannah Hunt in the passenger’s sit, how the night’s were mainly made for saying things that you can’t say tomorrow day, or how I got a love that keeps me waiting. I needed something to forget the fact that I was going to waste another 6 hours of my life at the same boring school, with the same boring people. But things are different here. They always are. Before, I tried to find reasons not to look up and see what was around me, but here, the moment I do it, is the happiest of my day.
